church signs and politics

ok so me and stacey have seen some pretty moronic chuch marquee signs around the area lately, now i know you all have seen your fair share such as "God still answers knee mail" and all those stupid ones but the church across the street from us is pretty inventive such as last weeks "when life is driving you crazy remember that moses was a basket case too" or maybe this weeks "no tricks here jesus is the treat" or maybe you could try this one on for size "7 days without God makes one weak" yeah i know i groaned too when i read that last one. but we get some zingers down here. now on to some politics. im glad to see everyones favorite rich celebrities are back in the media throwing more money into the ocean. you know the usuals, pitt, damon, jolie, bono, sarandon, penn. the list goes on. i guess since they couldnt eradicate hunger with the one campaign they are rolling aids into it as well so they can use their voice for huger and aids. im still not sure what the voice thing is going to do. i wish they would give their money to a real organization or maybe a missionary who could reach and do infinitley more with $10,000 than those t-bags can do with $10 million. but i know we all like to brag about how much money we give to charity, it makes us feel good. lets just broadcast it to the world. come on everyone in one voice........I GAVE (insert dollar amount here) TO THE ONE CAMPAIGN! who cares? not me. i think charitable giving should be personal, not something you brag about on NATIONAL TELEVISION. but then again if you didnt do that then you couldnt get the sympathy vote from all the loser fans you have out there that buy into every nickle and dime program you are hocking on a 30 second commercial. have we forgot that the media is MADE TO INFLUENCE YOU??? these people are ACTORS! hellooooooooooooooooo if i made $20 million per picture i sure as hell wouldnt be bragging about giving $100 thousand to some charity. thats a slap in the face. how bout you auction that new car off or auction one of your 6 mansions and donate the proceeds to a missionary who is living and working in the middle of the chaos. so for those of you that think that i am heartless, i gave $15 to teen challenge this morning....they washed my car.

Random Thoughts

Ok, so i am back from Africa, it was a great trip. VERY QUICK but awesome still the same. i spent the whole time in Kenya working with Anna on her new Mac laptop. i got to go visit the rescued baby elephant farm, the giraffe park where i got to hand feed some huge giraffes, the crocodile & ostrich farm then i went to the village market where i got about 125.00 worth of stuff for only 50! im good. so here is a thought that i have been giving some thought too. i keep getting asked about why i dont have a myspace account and everyone loves to tell me why i should get one. here is my take on the whole situation. first of all i think myspace is for jr. high school kids. now if you have a myspace dont get upset, thats just my opinion. if i was in high school and i wanted to continuously talk to my friends after school then myspace is where its at. i despise clicking on someones myspace account only to be blasted out of my chair by some song from nickleback, timberlake or diddy! is the song really necessary? also why does everyone have on there what kind of kisser you are? does it really matter to everyone on the internet if you are ***AN AMAZINGLY PASSIONATE KISSER*** yeah right like anyone actually believes that stuff. if you were that good of a kisser you would have a significant other and wouldnt be online 24/7. also why is everyones name spelled out in a anacronym like B - Bad R - robust O - outstanding C - cool K - kill me please. you get the point. i know lets all go to myrtle beach or 6 flags and get airbrushed t-shirts saying class of 07 rocks! or Brock and Joe BFF! or how about Brock L/S Stacey 4-EVA! there is just some information i dont need to know about you. the only positive thing i can come up with about myspace is that a lot of my EC friends have chosen this as a way to keep in touch, i miss my friends a lot but i have this blog, a cell phone, and a email. if you cant keep up with me through those 3 channels then there isnt much hope. now thats thats said, i will from time to time check out your myspace and look at your pictures but thats about it. have fun on there and remember to get your homework done and dont waste your lunch money!
